Ric Parnell was an English rock drummer who died at the age of 70. Parnell’s character spontaneously combusts at the close of the film, following running humor in which all of the group’s prior drummers died in the same way.
The musician also contributed to the soundtrack for the film, as well as a follow-up album called ‘Break Like The Wind,’ which was published in 1992.
Ric Parnell was born in London to jazz drummer and bandleader Jack Parnell. In the early 1970s, he was a member of the bands Atomic Rooster and Horse.
He has played in three Italian bands, and in the 1980s, he was said to have turned down invitations to join Journey and Whitesnake.
Parnell lived in Montana at the time of his death, where he co-hosted a weekly radio show called “Spontaneous Combustion.”
