Graham Thorpe, full name Graham Paul Thorpe happens to be a former English cricketer who played for England internationally and Surrey domestically during his time as a cricketer.
Graham started his professional career in 1988 for Surrey and played internationally for the first time in 1993. During his debut test match against Australia at Trent Bridge, he scored a century in the second innings. Graham was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1998.
In November 2000 during a game against Pakistan, he hit only one four in his hundred-plus seven threes, 12 twos and 51 singles. Graham also hit another boundary before being dismissed for 118 from 301 balls. In 2002, during his highest Test score, he hit 200 not out off 231 balls against New Zealand at Christchurch.
During the 2002 cricket season, Graham began having marital issues which were leaked to the public and published in a lot of newspapers. This issue affected him psychologically and seriously affected him and his focus on the games.
Graham decided to retire from Test cricket in July 2005. Before he finally retired, he played another two months with Surrey before following up his test retirement. He also served New South Wales as a batting coach for two seasons.
