Justice Sonia Sotomayor was born on June 25, 1954, to parents Celina Baez and Juan Sotomayor. Sonia is of American nationality but a Latino from Bronx New York and is currently a renowned Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Her father was a dye worker and her mother was a telephone operator and practical nurse.
Sotomayor has a brother, Juan Sotomayor who is currently a physician and University professor in Syracuse, New York. Sonia attained basic education at Blessed Sacrament School in Soundville and went into the Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx. in 1976, she was given a full scholarship to study at Princeton University.
