Nick Sandlin is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). Sandlin attended Greenbrier High School in Evans, Georgia, where he was a sidearm pitcher.
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles were his alma mater, where he played college baseball. With the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Hyannis Harbor Hawks in 2017, he had a successful collegiate summer baseball career.
Sandlin was named Conference USA Baseball Pitcher of the Year, as well as the Perfect Game/Rawlings National Pitcher of the Year Award during his junior year of college in 2018.
He also earned the C Spire Ferriss Trophy, presented to Mississippi’s top collegiate baseball player. Sandlin was taken by the Cleveland Indians in the second round of the 2018 MLB draft with the 67th overall pick.
After signing a $750,000 contract with the team, he received a $750,000 signing bonus. While pitching for four different minor league teams in 2018, he has a combined record of 2–0 and a 3.0 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 24 innings of bullpen work between the Lake County Captains, Lynchburg Hillcats and Akron RubberDucks.
