Colombian-born and now-residing American professional baseball outfielder Oscar Mauricio Mercado represents the Cleveland Guardians of the American Association of Professional Baseball Leagues.
In the United States, he was born on December 16, 1994. Along with both the Cleveland Indians and the Philadelphia Phillies, he is a former Major League Baseball player.
This past summer, he was part of Colombia’s national baseball squad and played in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. Cartagena, Colombia, is the city where Mercado was born.
His father, Oscar Sr., was an ardent soccer player and general contractor who reared Oscar Jr. The two siblings he shares with Juan are Nathalia and Nathalia’s identical twins.
His family moved to Tampa, Florida, when he was seven years old after arriving in the United States on his father’s work visa.
Mercado attended Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida, for their secondary schooling. He verbally committed to playing baseball for Florida State University’s collegiate team.
