After outfielders Wil Myers and Hunter Renfroe were both placed on the disabled list, Reyes made his Major League debut on May 14, 2018, against the Colorado Rockies, starting in right field.
On May 21, Reyes blasted his first MLB home run at Nationals Park. When Myers returned to the Padres on May 31, Reyes was optioned back to Triple-A El Paso.
On July 10, he returned to the squad and made regular starts in right field until July 21, when Myers recovered from a different injury.
In July, Reyes was called up for ten games, although he only got 12 at-bats, largely as a pinch hitter. When Myers was placed on the disabled list again in early August, he rejoined the team.
Reyes improved his approach at the plate after his fourth promotion, raising his average from .221 to.280 by the end of the season despite starting in the right field on a regular basis.
In the 13th inning against Colorado on August 30, he blasted a walk-off home run. In 261 at-bats and 71 starts in right field, Reyes ended with a .838 OPS and 16 home runs.
In the off-season, Reyes had surgery to repair a damaged meniscus in his right knee.
