Steven Cishek is an American born professional baseball player currently with the Washington Nationals baseball team. Steve plays the position of pitcher for the team. He grew up in Falmouth Massachusetts.
During the 2007 MLB draft, Steve was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the fifth round the draft. The Marlins promoted him to the major leagues in 2010 and he made his MLB debut that year for them.
They traded him to the St Louis Cardinals in July 2015. That same year in December, he signed a two-year contract worth $10 million with the Seattle Mariners. He spent two years with the Mariners and they traded him to the Tampa Bay Rays in July 2017.
That same year, Steve left the Rays and signed a two-year contract of $13 million with the Chicago Cubs in December. Three years after in January 2020, he signed a one-year contract with the Chicago White Sox and he signed a minor league contract with the Houston Astros in February 2021. That contract included an invitation to Spring Training.
He signed a one-year contract worth $1 million in March 2021 with the Los Angeles Angels. He returned to the Washington Nationals in March 2022 after he signed a one-year contract with them.
