Joshua Cole Rogers is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals in the United States. He formerly played for the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball.
Rogers was a baseball player at the University of Louisville after graduating from New Albany High School in New Albany, Indiana.
He was a member of the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League during the summers of 2014 and 2015.
In the 11th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, he was selected by the New York Yankees.
After three games with the Staten Island Yankees, Rogers was promoted to the Charleston RiverDogs. Between the two teams, he had a 4.05 ERA in 13.1 innings pitched.
In 2016, he pitched for both Charleston and the Tampa Yankees, posting a combined 12-6 record and 2.38 ERA in 24 games started for both teams, and in 2017, he pitched for both Tampa and the Trenton Thunder, posting an 8-5 record and 3.24 ERA.
He began 2018 with the Class AAA International League’s Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
The Yankees traded Rogers, Dillon Tate, and Cody Carroll to the Baltimore Orioles on July 24, 2018, for Zach Britton.
The Orioles assigned him to the Class AAA International League’s Norfolk Tides. He was 8-9 with a 3.54 ERA in 24 starts between Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Norfolk.
