Joshua Evan Bell, professionally called Josh Bell is one of the professional baseball players in the major leagues. He plays as a first baseman for the Washington Nationals baseball team. He is 1.93m tall and has been with the Nationals since December 2020.
Josh grew up in Texas where he was born on August 14, 1992. He played baseball whiles in high school at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas in Dallas, Texas. Before he completed, he was named to the USA Today All-USA high school baseball team and was also named the Gatorade/ESPN Rise Texas Player of the Year.
When Josh finished high school, he had wanted to play college baseball for the Texas Longhorns baseball team in the Big 12 Conference at the University of Texas at Austin but he forwent that plan when the Pittsburgh Pirates drafted him in the second round of the 2011 draft.
He received a signing bonus of $5 million and he made his professional debut the following year playing with the West Virginia Power of the Class A South Atlantic League. He stayed with the West Virginia Power during the 2013 minor league season.
In December 2020, the Pirates traded him to the Washington Nationals.
