Thomas Hatch, born John Thomas Hatch is an American-born professional baseball player with the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. He plays as a pitcher for the Jays and has been with them since 2019.

Thomas was born and raised in Oklahoma where he had his amateur baseball career. He attended Jenks High School in Oklahoma. After high school in 2013, he was not drafted by any team so he enrolled at Oklahoma State University where he played college baseball for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Before he graduated from the University, he collegiate summer baseball with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League. During the 2016 MLB draft, the Chicago Cubs selected him in the third-round draft.

Thomas agree to play for the Cubs and signed with them. He was given $573,900 as a signing bonus. He started playing professional baseball in 2017 after he was assigned by the Cubs to play with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League.

In 2018, Thomas spent the season with the Tennessee Smokies of the Class AA Southern League where he was named Southern League All-Star. In July 2019, the Toronto Blue Jays purchased his contract from the Cubs.

That year, he was assigned to play for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The Blue Jays added him to their 40-man roster when the 2019 season ended. He made his MLB debut for the Jays on July 26, 2020.
