John Thomas Hatch is a professional baseball pitcher from the United States who currently plays for the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball.
He was a pitcher for the Oklahoma State Cowboys throughout his time in college, and in 2016, he was named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year.
In the 2013 Major League Baseball draft, Hatch was not selected out of high school. He had a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in 2015, which prevented him from pitching.
During the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft, Hatch was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the third round. It was with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League that he made his debut as a professional baseball player in 2017.
In 27 starts throughout Tennessee and New Hampshire in 2018, he has a record of 6–13 with a 4.12 earned run average on the mound. After the conclusion of the 2019 season, the Toronto Blue Jays decided to include Hatch on their 40-man roster.
Hatch was diagnosed with inflammation in his right elbow on April 22, 2021, and was thus placed on the 60-day disabled list that same day. On July 6, he was removed from the injured list and put back into the lineup.
