Anthony Benjamin Kay is simply called Anthony Kay in baseball. He plays for the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. He plays as a pitcher for the team. Anthony has a height of 1.83 m and weighs 102 kg.
Anthony grew up in New York and was born on March 21, 1995. He had his amateur baseball career at Ward Melville High School in East Setauket in New York. After high school, he was drafted by the New York Mets in the 29th round of the 2013 MLB draft but he did not sign and chose to play college baseball at the University of Connecticut.
Before he graduated from the University, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. During the 2016 MLB draft, the New York Mets drafted him in the first round of the draft.
Anthony signed with them and started his professional career with the Mets. He was placed on the injured list in 2016 and 2017 so he started playing in 2018. He played for the Columbia Fireflies and the St. Lucie Mets. He was assigned to play for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at the start of the 2019 season but was later promoted to the Syracuse Mets.
That same season, he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. He made his MLB debut for the Jays on September 7 2019.
