Major League Baseball pitcher Trent Edward Thornton is an American professional baseball player for the Toronto Blue Jays.
On September 30, 1993, Thornton was born. Moving to New York City was my next step after graduating from Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Trent Edward Thornton was drafted by the Houston Astros in the fifth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft and signed a contract with the franchise after being picked by Houston.
Thornton led the North Carolina Tar Heels to a record of 12-1 as a freshman and 7-4 as a sophomore during his stay at the university.
During the summer of 2014, he was a member of the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
His professional debut came in 2015 when he played for the Tri-City Valley Cats in the American Association’s Short Season.
On two separate occasions, he played for the Lancaster JetsHawks and the Corpus Christi Hooks at Double-A level in 2016.
He was a member of the Fresno Grizzlies at Triple-A level in 2018. He was named the top pitcher in the Pacific Coast League for the week of June 11–17 after tossing 72 innings without surrendering a single run.
In November of last year, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired Thornton in exchange for Aledmys Daz.
