Thomas Ross Stripling is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. Ross Stripling previously played for the Los Angeles Dodgers where he made his major league baseball debut and played there from 2016 to 2020.
Ross was born on November 23, 1989, at Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. He started his career when he was in high school at Carroll High School in Salt Lake, Texas, and then played college baseball at the Texas A& M University. He threw a no-hitter for the Aggies against San Diego State on May 12, 2012.
Stripling was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the ninth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft which he did not sign The Los Angeles selected Stripling in the fifth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. Stripling finished his 2012 season with a 10 to fall record with a 3.08 ERA in 16 starts.
He was later promoted to Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts in May 2013 and was selected to the midseason Southern League All-Star game. He completed that season 6-4 with a 2.78 ERA in 21 games.
On August 31, 2020, Stripling was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for Kendall Williams and Ryan Noda. He appeared in 5 games with the Blue Jays that season posting a 0-2 record with 6.32ERA and 13 strikeouts in 152/3 innings pitched.
