On August 3, 2016, Moreno signed as an international free agent with the Toronto Blue Jays. Moreno made his professional debut in 2017 with the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays at the Rookie level.

Moreno spent his rookie season between the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays and the Rookie Advanced Bluefield Blue Jays, batting .359/.395/.575 with four home runs and 36 RBI.



Moreno hit .280/.337/.485 for the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts the next season, setting career highs in home runs (12), RBI (52), stolen bases (7), and walks (22).

 

Because the minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Moreno did not play in any games in 2020. After the 2020 season, the Blue Jays added him to their 40-man roster.

To begin the 2021 season, Moreno was assigned to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, where he excelled, in hitting.

In 32 games, he hit .373/.441/.651 with eight home runs and 45 RBI. Moreno had surgery on his right thumb on July 3, 2021, after suffering a fracture.

Later in the season, Moreno rebounded from his injury and was promoted to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons.
