Alejandro Kirk is a Mexican professional baseball catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. Kirk was born on November 6, 1998, and is currently 23 years old. The Blue Jay catcher is a native of Tijuana in Mexico. Kirk was discovered by the Toronto Blue Jay scout Dean Decillis in the Toros De Tijuana of the Mexican League.
Decillis plays a very important role for the Blue Jays as he is a hotcake when it comes to identifying baseball talents. He was selected by Detroit in the sixth round of the 1987 MLB draft, the former infielder has spent eight seasons in the Tigers’ minor league system including parts of four campaigns in London.
Kirk signed a contract with the Blue Jays and received a $7,500 signing bonus, with the Toros receiving $22,500 to release him.
Kirk began playing baseball at the young age of three and was a fan of Albert Pujols and the MLB team St.Louis Cardinals. His little league team was coached by his father Juan Manuel Kirk Sr. Kirk has two siblings; Juan Manuel Jr who is his elder brother and Andres Kirk, his younger brother.
He stands at 1.73metres and weighs 120 kg. and although he seems very big, Kirk is very fast and swings at 95mph with a heavy sinker and sure enough is competing with ease.
