American-born third baseman Matt Chapman, also known by his stage name Matthew James Chapman, is best known for playing for the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team.
Jim Chapman and Lisa Chapman welcomed him into the world on April 28, 1993, in Victorville, California, in the United States. At Toro High School in Lake Forest, California, he played baseball for his high school team. He attended California State University, Fullerton and played college baseball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans after being undrafted out of high school in the 2011 MLB draft.
The Oakland Athletics selected him in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft. The next year, he signed a contract with them and made his professional debut with the Arizona League Athletics at the Rookie-level. He was moved up to the Class-A Beloit Snappers during the current season. He was forced to play for the Class A Advanced Stockton Ports in 2015.
