Santiago Espinal is a Dominican professional baseball infielder for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 10th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.

The Dominican Republic was where Espinal was born and raised until the age of 13 when he moved to the United States. While growing up in Florida, he went to Lyman High School in Longwood.

After moving to New York, he attended Penn Foster High School and graduated. For the 2016 season, Espinal attended Seminole State College of Florida and later Miami Dade College, where he received a full athletic scholarship.

The Boston Red Sox selected Espinal in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB draft, 298th overall. As a rookie in 2016, Espinal hit.244/.330/.267 with 10 RBIs for the Red Sox of the Gulf Coast League (RBI).

He hit.280/.334/.358 in 2017 with the Class-A Greenville Drive, driving in 46 runs on four home runs and accumulating 46 RBI. The Salem Red Sox drafted Espinal in the first round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.

Steve Pearce and cash were traded to Toronto in exchange for Espinal on June 28, 2018. Between Advanced-A Dunedin and Double-A New Hampshire, Espinal hit.297/.356/.444 with 10 home runs and 60 RBI, and he also played in Salem for the remainder of 2018.

As an Arizona Fall League (AFL) player following the 2018 season, he was drafted by Surprise Saguaros.
