After leading all MLB players in Phase 1 of voting with 2,704,788 votes, the MLB revealed on June 27 that Guerrero was a voting finalist for the starting first base position at the Colorado 2021 All-Star Game.
Ronald Acua Jr., a center fielder with the Atlanta Braves of the National League, received the second-highest number of votes. In a three-game span, Guerrero hit a home run in each of those games, bringing his batting average to.391, with seven runs scored, and a slugging percentage of.481.
Since August 2019, Guerrero had not been named Player of the Week. Guerrero was designated the starting first baseman for the American League in the All-Star Game on July 1.
