Teoscar José Hernández is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder who currently plays for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball.
He was born on October 15, 1992, in the Dominican Republic (MLB). Earlier in his career, he was a member of the Houston Astros.
In February of 2011, Hernández became a member of the Houston Astros organization after signing a contract as an international free agent.
During the years 2012 and 2013, he was a member of the South Atlantic League’s Gulf Coast Astros at Rookie-level and the Lexington Legends at the Class-A level.
At the 2015 WBSC Premier12, he will be competing for the Dominican Republic national baseball team, and he was chosen to be on the roster.
The Astros brought him up to their main league club on August 12, 2016, and he made his debut that day. On July 31, 2017, Houston traded Hernandez to Toronto for Francisco Liriano.
Hernández hit his first Blue Jays home run against the Detroit Tigers on September 10, 2017. He hit.239 with 22 homers in 134 Blue Jays games.
Hernandez received the AL Silver Slugger Award for right field. He’ll start for the AL in 2021. He hit.296 with 32 homers and 116 RBIs in 2021.
In 2019, he struggled the first 2 months and was optioned to AAA. He returned to the majors to play centre field. In 125 games, he hit 26 homers.
