Anchor Bay High School in Fair Haven, Michigan, awarded Misiewicz his high school certificate. He was a member of the Michigan State Spartans baseball team while attending Michigan State University.
He finished 5–4 with a 3.80 earned run average (ERA) in 18 games as a junior in 2015. (eight games started). Following the season, he briefly played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
