Casey Scott Sadler is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. Sadler was born on July 13, 1990.
He began his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates and went on to play for the Tampa Bay Rays, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Chicago Cubs.
During the 2010 Major League Baseball draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Josh Sadler in the 25th round of available players. 2011 marked the year that he made his debut in the professional ranks with the Low-A State College Spikes.
Sadler played baseball at two different levels in 2013, dividing his time between the Double-A Altoona Curve and the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians.
In 2014, he had a record of 0–1 and a 7.84 ERA on the mound. 2015 was the year that he made his debut in the main leagues and also brought home the first victory of his career.
Sadler signed a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays on December 6, 2018. A trade of Sadler for Nathan Witt took place on July 3, 2019, between the Rays and the Dodgers.
Against the Philadelphia Phillies, he pitched two innings on July 15, 2019. While playing for the Dodgers, he went 4–0 with a 2.33 ERA in 27 innings of work, striking out 20 hitters.
The Chicago Cubs acquired Sadler from the Dodgers on January 17, 2020, in exchange for infielder Clayton Daniel.
