In professional baseball, one of the known names in the major leagues is Tom Murphy. He plays for the Seattle Mariners and takes the position of a catcher. Tom played baseball during his high school years at Paul V. Moore High School located in Central Square in New York.
When he completed high school, he continued at the University of Buffalo where he played college baseball. He was also in the 2010 collegiate summer league baseball where he played for the Oneonta Outlaws. During the 2012 MLB draft, he was chosen by the Colorado Rockies baseball in the 3rd round of the draft.
The Rockies assigned him to make his professional debut that same year with the Class A-Short Season Northwest League’s Tri-City Dust Devils. The San Francisco Giants claimed him off waivers in March 2019 and that same month, the Seattle Mariners purchased his contract from the Giants.
