Samuel Onofrio Haggerty, professionally called Sam Haggerty happens to be an American-born professional baseball player. He serves as an infielder for the Seattle Mariners baseball team.

Sam Haggerty played high school baseball at Mullen High School in Denver, Colorado. After high school, he enrolled at the University of New Mexico, where he played college baseball for the Lobos. During his first year at the University, he was awarded as the co-Freshman of the Year of the Mountain West Conference.

Whiles in college, he played collegiate summer baseball in 2014 with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League. During the 2015 MLB draft, the Cleveland Indians selected him in the 24th round of the draft. He agreed to play for them and signed. He made his professional debut that season with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

He was assigned to play for the Lake County Captains in 2016. In 2017, he spent the season with the Lynchburg Hill Cats and in 2018, he split the year between the Akron RubberDucks and the Columbus Clippers. The Indians traded him in January 2019 to the New York Mets. That year, the Mets assigned him to play for the Brooklyn Cyclones, Binghamton Rumble Ponies and the Syracuse Mets.

The Mets called him up to the major leagues for the first time in September 2019 and he made his MLB debut on September 4 2019 for the Mets when they faced the Washington Nationals. The Seattle Mariners claimed him off waivers in January 2020.
