Baseball infielder Sam Haggerty, plays for the Seattle Mariners baseball team as an infielder. He was a student at Mullen High School in Denver, Colorado where he played high school baseball. He also played college baseball for the Lobos at the University of New Mexico.
He was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team and honoured by the Mountain West Conference as co-Freshman of the Year in his rookie year. He participated in the 2014 collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks.
In the 24th round of the 2015 MLB Draft, he was selected by the Cleveland Indians. He made his professional debut with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers the same year he signed with the Indians. He spent the 2016 minor league season with the Lake County Captains. He played for the Lynchburg Hill Cats in 2017.
He was with the Akron RubberDucks in 2018, and the Columbus Clippers. He was traded to the New York Mets in January 2019. While playing for the Brooklyn Cyclones, Binghamton Rumble Ponies, and Syracuse Mets that year, he made his Mets debut.
The Mets signed him to a contract and promoted him to the major leagues in September 2019. On September 4, 2019, he played his first game for the Mets against the Washington Nationals in Major League Baseball. In January 2020, the Seattle Mariners picked him up off waivers.
