Alberto Rodriguez was born in the Dominican Republic on October 6, 2000, and currently plays outfield for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. In 2017, Rodrguez became a member of the Toronto Blue Jays organization after signing with the team as an international free agent.
After the conclusion of the 2020 season, the Toronto Blue Jays sent Rodriguez to the Seattle Mariners as the player to be named later in the deal that sent Taijuan Walker to Seattle in exchange for Rodriguez.
The Mariners have protected Rodriguez from the Rule 5 draft that will take place following the 2021 season by adding him to their 40-man roster.
