Sean Manaea

Sean Anthony Manaea, an American pitcher who competes in Major League Baseball, is presently a member of the San Diego Padres. Hawaii is the place of Manaea’s birth.

With the Oakland Athletics, he played in Major League Baseball for a while. Manaea was honoured in 2012 by the Cape Cod Baseball League, which named him the league’s top prospect.

He pitched a perfect game on April 21, 2018, without allowing any hits. The Kansas City Royals selected Manaea with the 34th overall pick in the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. In the middle of the 2015 campaign, they later traded him to the Oakland Athletics.

Manaea was chosen by Baseball America as a potential All-American and National Pitcher of the Year candidate in 2013. He was not selected by the MLB in the amateur draft after high school.

Manaea played baseball for the Indiana State Sycamores, an NCAA Division I Missouri Valley Conference team, while he was a student at Indiana State University.

By the time he received his college degree, his fastball could reach a peak speed of 97 mph (156 km/h).
