Austin Nola was born to A. J. Nola and Stacie Nola, a part-time secretary, and A. J. Nola, a remodeling and construction firm owner and baseball coach.
He later became an MLB pitcher for his younger brother Aaron’s Philadelphia Phillies (MLB). Richard Barrios, their maternal grandfather, once worked as the Louisiana House of Representatives’ sergeant at arms.
Early on, Austin Nola developed a love for baseball and frequently spent after-school hours playing catch with his father in their backyard. Austin and Aaron also had A. J. as their youth baseball coach.
Austin Nola participated on the baseball team at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge as a shortstop. When he was a freshman, Austin Nola was the team’s top hitter and made the varsity squad.
Austin Nola played on Catholic’s district-winning squad in 2007 as a junior. Austin Nola was chosen as an all-state shortstop for his four years of high school baseball.
Austin Nola received the 2008 Star of Stars in Baseball award from the Baton Rouge Advocate when she was a senior.
