Trent Grisham is an American professional baseball outfielder for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Milwaukee Brewers, who selected him in the first round (15th pick) of the 2015 MLB draft.
In North Richland Hills, Texas, Grisham attended Richland High School. As a freshman, he participated in both baseball and football. As a junior, he batted.441 with 10 home runs and as a senior, he hit.552 with three.
Grisham hit.538 with a.923 slugging percentage, 24 runs batted in (RBI), and ten stolen bases in 12 games with the 18-under Team USA during the summer after his junior year. He has agreed to play college baseball for Texas Tech University.
Grisham was regarded as one of the best prospects for the 2015 MLB draft. Milwaukee Brewers (15th pick in the first round) drafted him, signed him to a minor league contract, and then sent him to the Arizona League Brewers before sending him to the Helena Brewers.
He had a.309 batting average, two home runs, 21 RBIs, and a.854 OPS in 55 games between the two organizations. He played only 59 games in 2016 because of hamstring issues with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, hitting.231 with two home runs and 24 RBIs.
