Austin Daniel Pruitt is an Oakland Athletics Major League Baseball pitcher (MLB) as of March 13, 2022. He was born on August 31, 1989 and is currently 32 years old. He has played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Houston Astros, and Miami Marlins in the Major League Baseball (MLB).
Pruitt played collegiate baseball at Navarro College and the University of Houston after graduating from the Woodlands College Park High School in The Woodlands, Texas. He was selected in the ninth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
In July, he was promoted to the Bowling Green Hot Rods after making his professional debut with the Hudson Valley Renegades. He was 0-3 with a 1.44 ERA in 14 games (seven starts).
The Rays traded Pruitt to the Houston Astros for Cal Stevenson and Peyton Battenfield on January 9, 2020. However, he did not play any game for the Astros as he suffered from a hairline fracture in his right elbow that sesason. The Astros traded Pruitt to the Miami Marlins for reliever pitcher Yimi Garca on July 28, 2021.
Pruitt is currently married to his lovely wife Danielle. The couple first met during their college days at the University of Houston and got married in November 2017.
