Baseball player Zach Britton, sometimes known as Zackary Grant Britton, was born in the United States. He pitches for the baseball franchise known as the New York Yankees. He was born on December 22, 1987, in Panorama City, Los Angeles, California, in the United States.
He spent his first year of high school baseball at Canyon High School before transferring to Weatherford High School. He played both pitching and outfield for the baseball team and was an all-state selection.
When the Baltimore Orioles selected him in the third round of the 2006 MLB draft, he was allowed to accept an athletic scholarship to Texas A&M University. However, he declined and instead decided to pursue a career in baseball.
He agreed to a $200,000 signing bonus with the Orioles. Before being elevated to the major leagues in 2011, he competed for the Orioles in the minor levels. On April 3, 2011, he played his first MLB game for the Orioles. To avoid wage arbitration, the Orioles and Zack reached a $3.2 million agreement in 2015. In June 2018, his contract was transferred to the New York Yankees.
