Jonathan Stanley Loaisiga Estrada is a professional baseball pitcher who hails from Nicaragua. He currently plays for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. He made his MLB debut in 2018.
In September of 2012, Loaisiga became a San Francisco Giant after signing with the team as an international free agent. In 2013, he made his debut in the professional ranks with the DSL Giants, where he also spent the entirety of the season.
In 13 games that he started, he had a win–loss record of 8–1, along with an earned run average (ERA) of 2.75 and a walk–hit index (WHIP) of 1.11. As a result of injuries, he did not throw in either 2014 or 2015, and the Giants cut ties with him in May of 2015.
In February of 2016, he signed a contract with the New York Yankees. After pitching in the first game of the season for the Charleston RiverDogs, he was forced to have Tommy John surgery due to an injury that he sustained in the second game.
After the conclusion of the season, the Yankees decided to include him on their roster of 40 players.
In 2017, he made his comeback and pitched for both the GCL Yankees and the Staten Island Yankees, compiling a record of 1–1 with a total 1.38 earned run average in 11 starts.
