Born on March 1, 1999, Oswaldo Alberto Cabrera is currently playing shortstop for the New York Yankees organization. He is a Venezuelan professional baseball player.
Cabrera comes from Guarenas in Venezuela. At the age of sixteen, he became a member of the Yankees organization after signing a free-agent contract with the team. After the 2021 season in Double-A Northeast, Cabrera was selected as the most valuable player and received the award.
The Yankees have placed him on their 40-man roster, which prevents him from being selected in the Rule 5 draft and makes him ineligible for further trades. Cabrera will begin the 2022 season with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders after the Yankees elected to option him to play for the RailRiders.
