American left fielder Joseph Nicholas Gallo plays for the Major League Baseball New York Yankees. He had previously played for the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball. Gallo was chosen by the Rangers in the first round of the 2012 MLB draft, and he made his MLB debut with them in 2015.
He was chosen to play in the MLB All-Star Games in 2019 and 2021, and in 2020 and 2021, he took home the Gold Glove Award. Gallo was transferred from the Rangers to the Yankees in 2021.
Gallo went to Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was named the Nevada Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year and a High School All-American by MaxPreps, ESPNHS, and USA Today as a senior.
In 446 career at-bats, he hit 67 home runs, a Nevada high school record. During his senior year of high school, he had a batting average of.509 with 21 home runs and 80 runs batted in (RBIs) in 114 at-bats.
