Jordan Balazovic has experience pitching in the minor leagues as well as for the Canadian national team. When the Canadian junior team traveled to the Dominican Republic in 2016, Balazovic pitched nine innings of scoreless relief.
He was rated by Baseball America as the top Canadian high schooler going into the amateur draft in 2016.
In the fifth round of the amateur draft in 2016, the Minnesota Twins selected him. After Andy Yerzy, he was the fifth Canadian taken that year and the second one to graduate from high school. Walt Burrows was the Twins scout.
He pitched for the GCL Twins in his first professional game, going 2-1 with a save, a 1.97 ERA, and a.217 opponent average. He dropped to 1-3, 4.91 in 2017 while still playing for the same team.
