Baseball player Randy Travis Dobnak was born in the United States. He plays baseball for the Minnesota Twins as a pitcher. He was raised in Pennsylvania, where he was born on January 17, 1995.
He played high school baseball at South Park High School in South Park Township, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia, where he competed in NCAA Division II college baseball for the Battlers. Upon graduating from college, he signed with the Utica Unicorns of the United Shore Professional Baseball League.
The Minnesota Twins gave him a minor league contract in August of last year. When he decided to work for them, they offered him a $500 signing bonus. For the remainder of the season, he was expected to play for both the Cedar Rapids Kernels and the Elizabethton Twins.
During the 2019 minor league season, the Twins initially sent him to the Class A-Advanced Fort Myers Miracle before promoting him to the Double-A Pensacola Blue Wahoos and Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. The Twins signed him to a contract, then in August 2019, they elevated him to the main leagues. He made his MLB debut for the Twins on August 9, 2019.
In March 2021, he and the Twins came to a contract extension agreement. The contract had a five-year term and a $29.75 million price tag.
