Tyler Duffey is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB).
A non-roster member of the Minnesota Twins was invited to spring training this year. A Class AA Southern League rookie who was promoted to Rochester in May, he began the season with the Chattanooga Lookouts.
As a replacement for Tommy Milone, the Twins elevated Duffey to the majors on August 5, 2015, when he made his major league debut. Duffey concluded the season with a 5–1 record in 10 starts for the Twins, putting himself in contention for a starting slot in the rotation for the next season.
On April 24, Duffey was promoted from Triple-A after spending the first half of the season in the minors due to a rotational bottleneck. On April 24, 2016, against the Washington Nationals, Duffey hit his first major league hit, a sacrifice bunt.
Aaron Hicks broke up Duffey’s perfect game on June 26, 2016, after 5.2 innings. The Yankees would still lose 7–1. Although Duffey concluded the season with an ERA of 6.43, he was still in the rotation and led the team in victories with a 9–12 record in 26 starts.
