Tasha Ghouri happens to be among the few people selected to participate in the 2022 season of the Love Island TV show in the United Kingdom. Tasha’s full name is Natasha Amber Ghouri.
She is a video vixen, a professional model and a dancer. She was born in Thirsk in North Yorkshire in 1999. Tasha is the first-ever deaf contestant to appear on the Love Island show. She was born deaf and had a cochlear implant at the age of 5.
Tasha was already famous before joining the Love Island show as she went viral the previous year before the show where she appeared in an ASOS campaign wearing her cochlear implant in an ad for earrings. She has also featured in the 2020 music video for pop star MNEK’s track with Sleepwalkers titled ‘More Than Words”.
The music video was a celebration of the deaf community and all of the dancers that appeared in the video were deaf. Tasha said, “That was my first major music video. Surprisingly enough it was about him celebrating the deaf community. It was such a great, exciting opportunity”.
Love Island is a British reality that has been in existence since 3015. The show seeks to help contestants find love by pairing them with other contestants and assigning them to various tasks till a pair falls in love with each other.
