A well-known professional baseball player from Japan is Kenta Maeda. He is a pitcher for the baseball franchise known as the Minnesota Twins. On April 11, 1988, at a place called Tadaoka, Japan, he was born and nurtured.
He participated in baseball as a student at Japan’s PL Gakuen Senior High School. In the Japan 2006 NPB Draft, the Hiroshima Toyo Carp selected him out of high school. He joined and played for the Carp’s secondary team in 2007, marking his NPB debut.
He was called up to the NPB team in 2008, and on April 5, 2008, he made his NPB professional debut. He was purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers from the NPB in January 2016. In addition to signing with them, he also agreed to an eight-year, $25 million deal with the Dodgers.
A $10 million annual incentive was included in the contract. On April 6, 2016, he made his MLB debut with the Dodgers. He was dealt to the Minnesota Twins in February 2020. In July of that year, he started playing with the Twins. Kenta underwent Tommy John surgery, and the Twins declared that he won’t be able to play in 2022.
