Pitcher Jovani Morán is of Puerto Rican descent and currently plays for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball. He made his MLB debut in 2021.
Morán, who attended the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy in Florida, Puerto Rico, was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the seventh round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.
In that year, he made his debut in the professional ranks with the Gulf Coast Twins.
Morán played with the Elizabethton Twins in 2017 after suffering an injury that prevented him from playing in 2016.
He was a member of the Cedar Rapids Kernels and the Fort Myers Miracle in 2018, and he is currently playing for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the Gulf Coast Twins in 2019.
Following the conclusion of the 2019 campaign, he participated in the Arizona Fall League. Because of the widespread COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, the minor league baseball season was called off, hence he did not participate in any games.
Morán began 2021 playing with the Wichita Wind Surge but was later traded to the St. Paul Saints.
On September 12th, the Twins gave him a promotion to play in the major leagues. He played his first game in the major leagues that night.
