As a member of Lake Elsinore Storm in the Class A-Advanced California League in 2014, Gott was named an All-Star in the league. In 29 games with Lake Elsinore, he pitched 31+13 innings, striking out 31 batters while walking nine.
He was 2–2 with a 3.16 ERA and recorded 16 saves out of 20 chances. A Class AA Texas League team, the San Antonio Missions, selected him in July 2014 and assigned him to the team.
No decisions were made, however he walked nine and threw 11 strikeouts in 11+2/3 innings of work for San Antonio.
To make room for Lindsey, Alvarez, Rondón, and Morris, the Padres dealt Gott and Huston Street to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on July 19, 2014.
Upon his return from Class AA Texas League duty, the Angels assigned him to the Class AA Arkansas Travelers. In 13 games, he was 2–1 with a 1.53 ERA, striking out 18, walking 7, and recording two saves in four chances while throwing 17+23 innings.
With three minor league teams in 2014, he appeared in 52 games, pitched 60+23 innings, struck out 60 batters while walking 25, had an overall record of 4–5 with a 2.97 earned run average and recorded 18 saves out of 24 chances.
Gott was a member of the Mesa Solar Sox of the Arizona Fall League in 2014.
He appeared in eight games for the Solar Sox, with no wins and a 6.14 ERA in 7+1/3 innings of work, with two walks, four strikeouts, and one save.
He was also recognized as an Arizona Fall League Rising Star and represented Mesa on the East team in the league′s Fall Stars Game.
