  James William Gott (born August 3, 1959) is a  former professional baseball pitcher and coach from the United States. From 1982 through 1995, Gott pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball (MLB). From 2018 to 2020, he was the bullpen coach for the Philadelphia Phillies.



Trevor Vaughan Gott is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Milwaukee Brewers (MLB). He was born on August 26, 1992, in Lexington, Kentucky.

Tates Creek High School was Gott’s alma mater. He was named “one of the top pitchers in the state” by a journalist for The State Journal in 2010. He was 6-0 with a 1.12 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 47.1 innings as a senior, while also hitting.382 with two home runs and 13 RBIs.  He was named Kentucky High School Player of the Year by Gatorade.

Gott has previously pitched for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Washington Nationals, and San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball before Gott signed a major league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers on November 3, 2021.
