Jandel Francisco Gustave is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers of the Dominican Republic.
Gustave was born on October 12, 1992, in Pimentel, Dominican Republic. When Gustave was two years old, his mother died. His maternal grandma reared him and his two siblings. The family relocated from Pimentel to Santo Domingo to support her grandchildren. Gustave is a Haitian immigrant.
In 2010, he signed as an amateur free agent with the Houston Astros. Gustave debuted in Major League Baseball in 2016 with the Houston Astros and has also played for the San Francisco Giants.
Gustave signed as an international free agent with the Houston Astros on May 25, 2010, and collected a $40,000 signing bonus. He played with the Gulf Coast League Astros in 2012 after completing his first two professional seasons with the Dominican Summer League Astros.
Gustave was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers on June 25, 2021, along with Troy Stokes Jr., for Samuel Escudero. He has previously played for the San Francisco Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gustave was called up to the active roster on July 7.
