Rowdy Tellez is one of the professional baseball players currently with the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team. He plays as the first baseman for the Brewers. He was born on March 16, 1995, to Greg Tellez and Lori Tellez in Sacramento, California in the USA.
He played baseball non-professionally in high school at Elk Grove High School where he was named a 2013 Baseball America High School All-American, 2013 Rawlings First Team All-American and 2013 Rawlings/Perfect Game All-Region First Team – California.
When he graduated from high school in 2013, he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 30th round of the 2013 MLB draft. He signed with the Blue Jays forgoing his intention to go to college to play college baseball. After he signed with the Blue Jays, he was given $850,000 as a signing bonus.
He made his professional debut in 2013 with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays. That same season, Baseball America ranked him the best power hitter in the Blue Jay’s minor league organization. He was assigned to spend the 2014 season with the Bluefield Blue Jays of the Appalachian League.
During the 2016 minor league season, the Jays assigned him to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The Blue Jays promoted him to the major leagues in 2018 and he made his MLB debut on September 5, 2018, for the Blue Jays. He was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in July 2021.
