Sean McManus Guenther, simply called Sean Guenther plays professional baseball for the Miami Marlins baseball team. He serves as a pitcher and has been with them since he was drafted by the team in 2017.
The Miami Marlins selected him in the 7th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. He signed with them and made his professional debut that season with the Gulf Coast League Marlins of the Gulf Coast League. That same season, he earned a promotion to spend the rest of the season with the Batavia Muckdogs of the New York-Penn League.
He was assigned in the 2018 season to play with the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Florida State League. His performance with the Hammerheads was not impressive so he was demoted to the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the Single-A South Atlantic League.
He spent 2019 playing with both the Clinton LumberKings of the Midwest League and with the Jupiter Hammerheads. The 2020 minor league season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic thus he did not play in any game that season.
When the season resumed in 2021, the Marlins assigned him to play for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos of Double-A South but promoted him during the season to play for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp of Triple-A East. He made his MLB for the team on August 4th 2021.
