Louis Head is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted in the 18th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft by the Cleveland Indians.
Head spent his childhood in Katy, Texas, and received his high school education at Cinco Ranch. Head was born in Houston.
During his first two years of college baseball, Head was a member of the Texas Tech University baseball team. After that, he transferred to Texas State University.
He made 18 appearances as a junior and had a record of 2–2 with a 4.20 earned run average and three saves.
The Cleveland Indians took a chance on Head and picked him up in the 18th round of the Major League Baseball draft back in 2012. It was with the Low-A Mahoning Valley Scrappers that he got his start in the professional baseball industry.
During the 2013 season, he pitched for both the Single-A Lake County Captains and the High-A Carolina Mudcats, in addition to making one appearance for the Triple-A Columbus Clippers. Overall, he posted a record of 4–4 with a 2.48 earned run average and 66 strikeouts for the season.
