Thomas Andrew Nance professionally called Tommy Nance is one of the professional baseball players in the major leagues known to play the position of a pitcher for the Miami Marlins baseball team.
He was born to parents Mark and Susan Lance on March 19, 1991, in Long Beach, California in the USA. He grew up and had his high school baseball career in his birth town at Woodrow Wilson High School. After he graduated from high school, he enrolled at Long Beach State, Cypress College, and Santa Clara University where he played college baseball in all these colleges.
When he graduated from the University, he was undrafted by any baseball team so he signed with the Windy City Thunderbolts (a professional baseball team in Chicago) of the Frontier League in 2015. He was finally traded to the Chicago Cubs in January 2016.
That season, the Cubs assigned him to play for four Cubs affiliates, the Low-A Eugene Emeralds, the Single-A South Bend Cubs and the High-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
In May 2021, the Cubs added him to their 40-man roster and promoted him to the major leagues. He made his MLB debut on May 17 2021 for the team. He was claimed off waivers by the Miami Marlins in March 2022.
