Cody Poteet is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). At the beginning of 2019, he returned to Jacksonville, where he was selected as an All-Star and was promoted to the Class AAA New Orleans Baby Cakes of the Pacific Coast League.
Between the two teams, he made 23 starts, going 7-6 with a 3.56 ERA with 92 strikeouts in 136 13 innings. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Poteet was unable to participate in a minor league game in 2020.
In 2021, he was sent to Jacksonville, a Triple-A East team, to begin the season. After being called up to the active roster on May 12, 2021, Poteet was promoted to the majors for the first time.
