Jorge Carlos Soler Castillo is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Miami Marlins (MLB). Soler previously played for the Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, and Atlanta Braves in the Major League Baseball (MLB).
In international competition, Soler represented Cuba in baseball. In 2011, he left Cuba in search of a job in Major League Baseball. Soler signed a nine-year contract with the Cubs after establishing himself in Haiti. He debuted in the Major League Baseball in 2014 and helped the Cubs win the 2016 World Series.
After the 2016 season, the Cubs shipped Soler to the Royals. In 2019, he has the most home runs in the American League.
Soler was traded to Atlanta in 2021 and went on to win the World Series in 2021, earning the Most Valuable Player Award. Before the 2022 season, Soler signed a deal with the Marlins.
Soler hit .304 with a.500 on-base percentage and .522 slugging percentage for the Cuban national baseball team during the 2010 World Junior Baseball Championship.
He had the second-most walks in the competition, with nine. The bronze medal was awarded to Cuba. In the Cuban National Series, Soler also appeared with the Industriales.
In 2011, Soler left Cuba to seek a baseball career in the United States (MLB). He moved to Haiti and set up his shop.
On June 2, 2012, the Office of Foreign Assets Control unblocked Soler, allowing him to sign with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Many teams competed for Soler while he was a free agent.
