Patrick Jordan Sandoval is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of the American professional baseball league. He was born in the United States on October 18, 1996.
Sandoval received his education and athletic training at Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, California, where he also participated in baseball. In his senior year, he finished with a record of 9–3 with an earned run average of 0.97.
After making a verbal pledge to play collegiate baseball at Vanderbilt University, he then changed his mind and made a new commitment to the University of Southern California.
During the 2015 Major League Baseball draft, Sandoval was chosen by the Houston Astros in the 11th round.
In exchange for $900,000, he broke his agreement to attend the University of Southern California. After signing, he made his first appearance in a professional game that season with the Gulf Coast League Astros. In six starts, he had a record of 0–3 and a 6.08 earned run average (ERA).
In 2016, he pitched for the Greeneville Astros, for whom he had a record of 2–3 and an earned run average of 5.30 in a total of 13 games (eight starts). The following year, he pitched for the Buies Creek Astros, the Tri-City ValleyCats, and the Quad Cities River Bandits, for whom he had a combined record of 3–4 and an earned run average of 4.09 in a total of 14 games (11 starts) between the three teams
Sandoval started the 2018 campaign with the Quad Cities and was selected to start the Midwest League All-Star Game. Late in the month of June, he was given a promotion to Buies Creek.
